Saying what you like/don't like about a picture should never be cause for anyone to take offense, likewise any suggestion you think would make it better.

What I also find funny is the other part he wrote, "People were also likely keyed into 'tranquil or silent' part of zen due to the challenge description". That's mine to a tee so I guess voters were looking for fiery and ferocious when they voted on mine. :P

You might try softening the shadows on the near side of the sticks just a touch-- they may add just enough excess contrast to add an element of harshness to an otherwise pastoral (and pastel) scene.
Am I being cheeky asking for any comments on this one I submitted? I only got a couple of comments during the challenge and need all the help I can get!
Think it didn't do so well because it doesn't scream 'action' ?
