Yes, i'm just trying to make the point that their method is WRONG. HORRIBLY WRONG. _FOR_THE_LOVE_OF_GOD_WRONG_. Lang knows why, and he probably even agrees with me. It's just every time he mentions it, Drew slaps him down and threatens to stop being his friend. Lang, having fallen into the role of the abused wife in the relationship, agrees with him, then goes home to cry himself to sleep. I feel for you Lang, i really do. I'm here for you. Suffice it to say, i feel that running a site such as this, with this many users, on a backend which is completely reliant on a database format created for microsoft office, is just plain wrong. At least with certain other (open source) programming languages you can go in and actually fix the problems (such as this cookie thing) instead of submitting a bug and waiting 2 or 3 months for the update package. Of course, you'd be lucky if it's actually a bug and not just some weird configuration thing specific to your server, in which case you're fairly fucked.
And I thought you actually wanted help using it. My mistake for forgetting your sarcasm.

I'm not about to engage in a holy war of open source vs MS vs Sun vs NS. That's pointless. Suffice it to say, that all are capable of this load, as are Drew And Langdon of programming to the language they've choosen to host on.
How do you know the cookie problem is not due to proxies? Or gateways? Or firewalls? Or any other miscellaneous factor that these guys just don't have the professional testing resources to uncover?
Maybe you should throw your biases out at the door before stepping into the arena of web development and hosting solutions.

I'm not about to engage in a holy war of open source vs MS vs Sun vs NS. That's pointless. Suffice it to say, that all are capable of this load, as are Drew And Langdon of programming to the language they've choosen to host on.
Yeah, that whole yahw thing is so tired. Each platform has its pros & cons. ASP... maybe a few more cons than others, but certainly capable of handling this load & functionality.
Just out of curiosity Drew &/or Langdon, why did you choose asp for this app?

I can't actually stay logged in. I'm accepting cookies and clicking on 'save my password as a cookie' but every time I come back, it says "MF^::;" in my username login box and I'm not logged in. Even if I'm signed in in one browser and I open a new browser...I'm not still signed in.

Just for future reference, sarcasm almost never is decernable in text. Nor does it really do anything but allow you to run your mouth. It is sad. I know its sad because i used to be that way until I fugured it out.
Sarcasm is diarea of the mouth. It happens because there is no fiber in your discourse.
This is only my 2 cents, but also remeber sarchasm is the gap between those that get it and those that dont, but as Ive mentioned before its really hard to tell when its being used in text.
