Hey all! I'm going on a phototrip (well, not really, but that's what I'm calling it) to Indiana over Labor Day.
I've never really been in this part of the country, so does anyone have any ideas on where to go or what to see? From what I know, we are going via I-70.
i don't know about sites to see, but i would recommend a stopover in kansas city, mo. (you'll need a break after kansas.) i spent some time there a few summers ago and was actually really impressed with it. it's great fun.
what kinds of activities are you looking for? why are you coming to indiana? you'll be driving about a mile away from my house once you get here. :)

We're looking for just about anything photogenic or fun. Maybe catch some summer storms on the plains? I dunno...ANYTHING really.
My sister is going to college somewhere over there, not sure what school, so we are moving her junk for her.
Is she going to IU? Bloomington is a very photogenic town...go to the rock quarries! Brown County is another great scenic place (south of bloomington as I recall).
I went to college there. I haven't been there in about 25 years, but I still fondly remember the area and thought I'd settle there one day.
Don't know any attractions en route for you though!
yes, it makes sense that she'd be at IU. they have a huge art school and a very photogenic campus. spend some time in southern indiana -- although its grandeur probably doesn't compare to utah, it's pretty cool for being around here.
and tell her to live in Willkie! that's where i was when i was there. woot! :)
You will probably be going through st. louis. There is a really nice zoo, the botanical gardens are nice, a place called grants farm (the family that owns anhesuer beer products). The river front is also a neat place to shoot... some old buildings with some nice architeture and then there's always the arch. Hmmm... I'm sure there is plenty more around here but I'm drawing a blank right now.
There is no way to past through Kansas City with out stopping at Arthur Bryant's BBQ. I don't know how photogenic the place is, I'm always to focused on the ribs.

Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak at Colorado Springs, CO
Blue Springs, Missouri... what is here other then me??? Well me. Forget about Kansas City and Union Station and the Liberty Memorial... Who cares about the Gateway Arch in St Louis... you can see two of those at each McDonalds you pass.
A bit more serious... I live in Missouri and they are a few good places right along I-70 to take pictures...
