Today's shot is Like my Hairdo?, by nathaliedoo. I think this shot was recently added, so probably no one has had a chance to see it yet. These are certainly ugly birds, and Nathalie has captured that. I like the contrast between the lovely blue of the sky and the strange plainness of the ostrich's head. The hair has great details, and the "beak" seems to be turned down into a little frown. The dark shadows underneath the beak are unfortunate - perhaps that is my only gripe.
What is your obsession with favorites, Pitsaman? He is pointing out a shot he liked. If someone did POTD for awhile, their whole list would quickly have to be POTD and nothing else. What if David Sidwell did POTD? He already has nearly 200 favorites. What would he do, take off his ABSOLUTE favorite shots so you'd be happy?
Just enjoy the picture, the post and the forum. If not, quit reading. Nobody's forcing you.
I think the first Pic of the Day that I posted, I also stated my disclaimer that I don't care if anyone agrees with me and I don't care if anyone argues with what I say or do. I chose this pic as pic of the day because I like it. I din't put it in my favorites because I don't feel like it. Just because the database doesn't list it as my favorite doesn't mean I don't like it.
I just like the shot. I repeat, I don't care if you agree with what I'm doing.
Hey, I just noticed this thread. Thanks Steve for pointing out this shot of mine. First, I don't mind much about favorites, so no one should feel bad about it. I'm sorry this has already turned into an argument. I'd prefer much your comments!!!! To me, this is not a wow shot but a wild life shot. The amazing thing and interest in it was to see the details we would never see without a picture since we normally stand away from those birds! Thanks again.
