I know there is talk of a gtg in early August (12th), how about we try to tie it all in together? Soon as I get some input from both threads on the idea of a half day, south of the chicago river gtg, ending the night at the museum campus to see the navy pier fireworks, I will start the official aug 12 gtg thread.
The 12th is a saturday, right? I think I could do a saturday thing, but my hubby leaves for out of state early monday morning....so I *may* miss the Navy Pier thing at night. Unless I can talk him into coming with me.
If someone who is going wanted to send me a contact number, I might be able to make a brief appearance somewhere. But wouldn't know when I'd be able to get there, so would have to just call when I was in the area. Lemme know.
Well, Maya said she'd be out of town till the 11th....so I think we'll have to figure this out on our own.

If you're driving from MI and have a couple hours to spare, I can give you directions to the Indiana Dunes. It's only a couple miles off 80/94 and depending on the day can offer great views, sunsets, and tons of sand. It's my neck of the woods and several of my entries have come from there or other local dunes.
Elizabeth, you decide since you live in the area and probably know more about where to go and a convenient meeeting place that isn't hard to find.
Or somebody that lives in the area.

Well, the suggestion of Soldier Field as a meeting place isn't a bad one. I'd certainly be up for hitting the museum area by the lake and navy pier.
Do people have a preference in terms of staying in one area, or are you in the mood for hopping cab or two?
I'm sorry I'm not going to be around this weekend. I'm heading out of town tomorrow am. I am a Chicago resident - living right downtown, so would have loved to meet up.
