Well this is just one picture but i would like to see what you all think... comments welcome please. Are the pictures to small? Sujestions welcome as well =) thanks Chris
a little about the picture.
This is the Unity Jar instead of lighting candles they mixed sand Bride had White Groom had Black. Took it as they walked away in the back ground. ( props the best man gave me the idea......)
My "personal' opinion, the out takes are all out of focus. Great concept if you could have gootten them focused in the background of that hole in the bottle.
The 1st one with the pics enclosed, yes, to my eye they are too small. The emphasis is put on that bottle....(cool bottle I might add), however, the size of the B&W bottle and glass overpower the subject matter...which is the wedding. A GURU I am not, you are getting my honest opinion only. The bottle and glass could be a cool background, but only as that. I would show off the pics more, which look really nice as best as I can see them.
You should be impressed...I think you did a wonderful job...would you mind sharing the exif data on some of those, or at least what type of lens you used?
yeah i was thinking a bit dark too. takes away from the light happy feel you'd want in wedding pictures. the composition and focus on them are great though.
Thanks for the comments... i use the lens kit i got with the cammera.... 28-80 and i think the darkness is the processing of the pictures. i think may a bit to much Contrast. But i do want to give a BIG thanks to Youngnova for helping me with the extra shooting at this wedding. It really helped alot =)
just want to add this again about the jar thing above i have got a few PM's and questions about it and an unsure comment LOL=) but i updated th info about the Jar and glass picture........
(The Bride and groom did not use unity candles during the wedding they used this jar and they each had a different color to pour in (Bride-White Groom-Black) and they took turns and poured in there color the cup (or glass) has left over sand on the glass.... hope this is a little more clear.)
I think the photos look fine to me. Not to dark and not to bright. If you look at the brides dress..it is bright enough. I think it may be the brown color in the dresses, but I could be wrong.
I do see a few that are a bit dark and a few that have a orange tint to them. Might want to do some correction to the color.
A couple of wedding advantages of RAW are that you can sort out the white balance afterwards (useful when you are changing lighting conditions regularly, as you appear to have had to do here) and fine tune the exposure to avoid losing too much detail in the bride's dress (which some of your pics also suffer from slightly).
If you are like me, you will also occasionally get settings such as the flash synch speed wrong, and it is possible to rescue shots in RAW that would be total goners in jpg. This can be important for weddings!
On a couple of shots, you appear to be using undiffused direct flash - you might want to try a diffuser and/or bouncing the flash.

Well this is correct to a point... but i have a diffuser that came with the flash that slides over the flash head. Is this not enough... i am looking into a little of a diffuser like the Gary Fong thing, or something....

I was looking at the pic with the bridesmaids and the groom - shadows look a bit harsh. The Gary Fong thing is good (if ridiculous looking), but there are other ways of diffusing the light that work well (there are plenty of threads on this).
Bouncing the flash is great when you can do it - it effectively turns the reflective surface into a giant soft box.
