I don't give a rat's hind-end if you can move and manipulate and shift and coloUr and tint and bend and highlight... and make a pic what could NEVER exist in the real world. I don't want anyone to respond to this if they think PS or any other post shot production software is a gift from Heaven. I want to meet people who hold true to nature and light and angles... and photography as an art to be discovered; not invented. Sounds like you suffer from PS envy my friend. All decent photographers do some post processing. Either at a computer or in a lab. It's a puzzle to be put together.
It's a secret to be discovered... not a subject to be created. If ya canna find the subject when it is right in front of you... post-processing only makes it easy to satisfy the personal ego... envy? Naw... skill.. come over to the natural side... see if ya can cut it there.

I'm probably more inclined to agree with your views than most here, but you lost me when you said " ... and photography as an art to be ...". That excludes me because I'm not trying to be an artist, just a photographer.
Instead of asking for people to e-mail you, why don't you explore around our portfolios and challenges to find what you like and then contact those people. You may want to start with the recent Straight from the Camera challenge.
Nawwww....'cause often we turn the camera to get a view... then have to rotate it to get the balance. And many do not look at the horizon... so it has to be set straight.

I get your point Jimmie, and I understand where you're going with the thread, but if you think your cam isn't helping you out with some internal processing, you're deluding yourself. at least some post-processing of digital images in inescapable. without it it's just a bunch of Is and Os.
there's a difference between processing and manipulating for certain, but extreme purism is a fallacy.
