I glanced through the Nostalgia photos and have a question before I vote. What exactly does this quote from the rules mean?

This includes, but is not limited to paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, and computer artwork
Does it mean that no one can use a photograph in their entry. What is a creative depiction or interpretation? Could this be considered any entry where a photo is not used alone?

The phrase including YOUR OWN is why I am not sure that interpretation is what was meant by the rule..... I am wondering what was meant when the rule was written..... those who have been around here a while might be able to help me understand this better.
I think what they mean is - You cant just take a picture of the flower you painted last week and submit it for a "floral" challenge.
however, if you were to take that picture as the backdrop and have a real bee trying to get at the flowers in the painting, then that would be ok.
I wish I could remember who did it, but someone did an excellent job of painting a flower picture in photosohp, then printed it out, and placed a real flower on top of it as if it were part of the picture. A snapshot of the printout wouldn't be ok, but in using it as a prop, it is.
Well.. I really appreciate that you concern so much before voting but, at the same time, I am scared by the contrast of such a professional approach, compared with the one chosen by trolls which are going to vote and influence the challenge anyway..
Regarding Nostalgia I have taken few votes so far and only one lovely comment from a real user, stating that she liked the pic very much and rated it 10! (If I am correct, it is my first 10 in DPC, which basically means that I will never forget you!!).
Unfortunately my average is 5.1 (it may change in one way or another, I got very few votes) but, once again, what I am most afraid of are trolls!!!!
Of course, everybody who votes my pic with less than 5 is automatically considered a troll! =P
I think most people here have pretty much summed it up, I just wanted to point out that when voting, the 'rules' also state that you should vote as if the photograph does not violate any rules, just notify the admins of the problem. If you think the picture is worth an 8 let's say, vote it as if it were an 8, don't detract any points for what you think may be illegal.
