could I improve is picture. Drillhead It was my entry for the repetition challenge; I thought it fitted the challenge quite well, I know the score is around my average score of 5.1.
My eyes are immediately drawn to the trash/debris around the base. The leaves and especially the bottom of that coke can.
Perhaps a different angle where you don't see houses/cars/etc in the background.
I think Maritime Museum cropped would've been great. That's a great angle if you get rid of a lot of the yard to the bottom and right. Maybe even crop it beyond the edges of the building.
I gave your drillhead photo a 4. It fits the challenge, is technically sound, but really, to me, isn't a very interesting photo. I'm not sure how to make it interesting, either. I like your submission better than the other one because that one is getting too abstract.
I would've rated Martime Museum higher, especially if you had cropped out a bit more of the grass. It's just a visually more appealing shot.
Umm, I don't know whether to call you Harold or George but I did post a comment on the photo. Hope it helps you out with this one. I think you had a good subject, just lost something in the photo you took. I'm sure it'd be worth another try if you wanted to reshoot it.
with things like that drillhead, try not shooting it from standard eye level. try to get really low, or really high. get really close. show it from an unusual perspective : )
.. try to leave out annoying bg elements.
I agree with Franziska. It does meet the challenge, but there is more to doing well than just meeting the challenge. Your photo is a rather literal, straight on, no frills view of your subject. You did not take any particularly interesting approach to the subject. There it is.. a red and yellow drill head... a contrasty background... but it does meet the challenge :)

On the other hand, I found it to be an interesting subject, as I do most industrial-type things which I've never seen before ... that big bit was a bit bigger than any big bit I've ever seen. For this subject, a shot straight down would probably work well.
first thing that came to my mind would be to try and lay on the ground and shoot up through one of the grooves into the sky, and either try to wash out the sky or create a contrast between the red and blue
I agree with others that a different angle would probably have been more interesting. Also dawn or pre-dusk lighting might have given you some interesting shadows to work with.
I like the museum shot but would have liked to have seen it a little larger.
