I'm not posting this to tute my own horn... but only to let people know that with changes is extended licensing (found on most microstock sites) you'll make, on ocasion, more than just pennies on your sales with microstock. And those really add up to the rest!

Micro sites have different pricing based on the size of the downloaded file and the intended use.
In this case, it was probably a large image intended for a use outside of the normal limits: on a product or packaging, or an ad with a particularly large circulation or something. I assume this was one $200 sale for a single, particular use -- essentially the same as a "regular" rights-managed image from a traditional stock agency.
Congrats, and wow! I guess I should get back into uploading to the micro sites and check out this new pricing - they sent me an email which I've been ignoring for two months. If I'm ever gonna' get a 30D, microstock will have to finance most of it.
The most I've ever made for an image so far is $3.00 for one sale. And no single image has yet reached $100.00 total. Guess I need to improve my portfolio.
I'm just starting on my microstock adventure. I don't have any high hopes but just going to see what happens and maybe earn enough to get some better equipment down the road (ahem..Sony A100). I'll have to check out Dreamstime. Right now, I'm still waiting for my initial 10 to be accepted or rejected at ShutterStock.
