The problem is:
- "The colors change from a "Sky blue" to a "Magenta blue".
How to keep the original colors?
The work flow that I'm using is:
1. File from camera = Raw & Color space Adobe RGB
2. White Balance & Color Correction & USM in Phase One
3. Export TIFF (16 bit) file to Photoshop
4. Convert to 8 Bits/Channel
5. Save For Web
There is little reason to include a color profile (ICC) in web images since the web (and it's browsers) are not color managed. If you are preparing the image for a specific purpose that you know is color managed then go ahead and add the profile. Otherwise you are only using up space in the file that could have been used for the image.
Likewise, unless you have a specific application of the image that benefits from AdobeRGB, there is likely no benefit in using it over sRGB. If you final output is always for the web (for example), there in no benefit in using AdobeRGB since the web is sRGB based. The fewer conversions the image is put thru the better.
I've noticed some weird things in Save for Web. In my Save for Web window the photo is a lot brighter than it should be. When I've saved it for web it return to the normal brightness. Do you know what the problem is? It isn't really a problem because the photo still look the original when I've saved it. It just would be nice to fix it.
samesave for submission tutorial Try following all these steps to the tee, and see how it comes out. I know that you should be exporting with sRGBIEC1966-1 or 2.1 for the web, as that is what the internet uses as a color space, I believe. When I convert from raw I go directly into this color space when I enter photoshop from raw.
I am happy to see this post as I have experienced a similar problem with color shift in Save for Web. My images are either JPEG or PSD when I hit that point and I have followed the tutorial precisely. It seems to happen primarily to the blues. In my current challenge entrya major area of the image shifted from a turquoise/cyan to a much cooler blue. I didn't have the time/energy to deal with it at the time. How can I keep it from happening and/or fix it if it does happen?
Just discovered something helpful in the Save for Web dialogue box/window. I had another image do a not very subtle color shift on me, so went looking for something that would change it back to the correct color. What I found was a small arrow button above the right image in the 2-up view. When I clicked on "standard Windows color" the problem cleared right up!
