Ok, maybe I'm not reading something right in the rules, or maybe I just can't read at all but everyone keeps saying that Desaturation and recoloring is NOT legal in the Challenges, however I constantly see the technique used and not disqualified. (I'm not trying to single anyone out because I use it frequently in Non-challenges) But for example:
As I understand it, as long as the effect is applied to the whole image, it is legal. For example, desturating all colours but blue or red. As long as you dont selectively choose the areas you are desaturating.
You might want to remove that second pic, as it is still being voted on
As aforementioned it is legal because the edit is across the whole image and not just part of it. From the original ( //www.tomlewis.btinternet.co.uk/121_2159.jpg )I removed the greens, orangy/reds (to remove colour from the house and fence in the background) and part of the blue spectrum. Therefore just leaving the swings and slide in colour. Apart from that unsharp mask, crop and resize were the only other tools used.
Just for the record my shot was recommend for disqualification I have replied with the original and a list of the steps I went through to get to my submitted version. Hopefully this will be satisfactory and the shot will remain.
