As often happens, and more so recently, I come across excellence in photos, which, by my standards at least, have not received the attention they deserve. Sometimes their placement posted in the official challenge results coincides with my (personal) evaluation, sometimes there is distance. Occasionally, a gem has been subjected to severe 'oversight' and/or prejudices, whatever the voters' motivations may be.
To remedy this and to pay respect to those who have made my world a little richer by sharing their works, I want to post an alternate award after and for every challenge (or at least as many as I can handle).
I liked your three picks but not in the same order. I will say that this theme had some very good shots and lots of people finally getting the theme right with the picture. It was hard picking them in order and rating them. I had to go back several times and correct my first score.
I like mine the best //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=34978 Oh sure there were some better picture as has been pointed out from zeuszen, her no 1 is my number 1, it got a 10 from me. However, I bet I had way more fun taking mine than most of you guys did taking hammers and wrenches etc.
Chez - I liked yours too. You probably got PC votes for the 1s and 2s. Low votes for good pics really bug me.

I think this shot fit the challenge quite well, actually. Those who felt differently, should have considered it an ironic choice, IMO. It is a good entry, in my book, although not an outstanding one. Both subject and the manner of rendering it, I feel, did not (quite) live up to the expectation raised by this choice.
Instead, and at least latently, it probably evoked a clichee conducive to the lightest interpretation, which may have both won and lost you a point or two on both sides of the scale?
