I'm not complaining, but I had hoped for it to do better. It is one of my favorites that I have entered thus far. I knew it was a bit too different to have broad appeal, but it captures the frenzy of a game.
I thought this would do better. I thought the clean lines with the bit of water and the obvious blur with the little story behind it was cool. I liked the yellow against the black to but going up against all those motion panning shots though wasn't to good. I guess it was to simple.
One of my comments said Also, I see mutiny as the overthrow of the captain of a ship, not someone jumping ship and running away.
Mutiny means:
Open rebellion against constituted authority, especially rebellion of sailors against superior officers
My little guy jumping ship did go with my title. The little one was rebelling against the mom (the constitued authority) by leaving the pack.

I wouldn't be mortified with a 6.0 on that shot. Or on any shot for that matter.
I don't get my score at all. 5.5 maybe, sub-5.... ??? Why?
I thought it was a neat brushstroke effect. Like I said, well-suited to a gigantic 10'x10' print for a museum wall. But people here hate abstracts with a passion that I do not understand. There seem to be a couple really nice abstracts in every challenge that catch my favor and they get craptastic scores every time.
Sub-5 for me too...guess I was a little too "zen" for the masses.
BTW...Contrary to comments received, there were no motion blur filters or brushes used; the blur is all motion blur in camera. I just desaturated and adjusted curves and levels to make it less contrasty and have more of a slightly high-keyish look. :)
I liked my entry because it looks nice to me and it was different. However, it finished where I expected it to.
In my opinion the two problems it had as an entry was the motion blur wasn't more "over the top, hit you in the head" and people looking at it probably wasn't impressed with the idea in general nor did people perceived it to be all that difficult even though I must have shot well over 200 photos to get one to enter.
The technique is flawless. Wish I could do this.
Such a wonderful, dreamy photo. The circular blur on his/her shoulder, to me, is more elegant that having the face in focus. All the movement and power is concentrated in that one spot.
I didn't vote, but these would have been my top picks.
My entry in Motion Blur was a spur of the moment shot. My wife and I noticed this guy on a harley travelling down the interstate. I had just enough time to get the camera out of the case and take the shot out the side window of the car (wife was driving ;o) ) as we passed him.
I'm very happy with the outcome of my entry. :) A HUGE THANKS to all who commented and voted.
