Hey everyone, going to be delivering Melissa to a friend's place on Monday, the 3rd, Graham to be exact and spending the night there and Tuesday heading north to VA, just outside of DC and will be there until Thursday before heading home. Anyone want to hook up? Anyone want to put me and the kids (hubby has to work) up for a night, we have no set schedule to get back or anything. Anyone know a good side trip we might take along the way? We can always sleep in the van and we'll be packing our food for the trip. We only are going to be spending money on gas, that's enough as it is! ;)
no one else? I would love to leave tomorrow and take two days to get there but have no where to stay in between here and there. Can anyone recommend a free campground or park we can park the van in? Some place that would at least have restrooms for us to use in the morning, we can sleep in the van, have done it before.
As you can probably guess, can't really afford this trip but it's very important to me and to Melissa that she get some away time with her friend, best therapy there is and after her last session with her counselor......... well
Well, if we leave tomorrow then I can be there with you on Monday and leave on Tuesday for BIL's house. If we leave on Monday then I would be at your house on Tuesday which is the 4th but would then hit BIL's house on Wednesday. Let me know if either of these works for you.
I would offer to let you stay with me if I had my own place, but I live with my Grandmother right now in a little 2 BR house. Mom & Dad live up the hill but will have my brother & his family staying with them.
There is a campground in Arcadia, VA (Exit 168 on I-81) near Buchanan, VA (where I live in southwestern VA between Roanoke & Lexington). Not sure which part of VA you plan to go through/visit, but I would recommend Shenandoah National Park. That's where there was a VA GTG not too long ago. Great photo ops and beautiful country. If you're going to be in the southwestern part of VA, let me know and I may be able to meet up with you for part of a day to show you around this area.
