I was doing some research for a project (good luck convincing engineers to submit high-res photos if you don't give them a page full of justifying numbers) and found this link
If it is to be believed, the smallest objects we can realistically see are 0.05mm. This is equal to around 500dpi if my math is right.
Now I'm left to wonder why even the cheapest Canon inkjet printer boasts a 4800dpi print resolution when, apparently, we'll never see it.
Any thoughts why we continue progressing down the DPI trail if we're already well past what we'll ever see? Is wikipedia wrong or is my math way off?
