i guess the shot of the moon is the crane framing the moon or half framing anyway, either way It was one of my favorite shots in the challenge maybe not 100% tight on the frame but the concept is sweet,
And it'd kinda what I went off of for my shot. What says that framing must fully wrap the subject?? Technically, the winner didn't do that either. I think they're all framing, I just don't get why you don't...
The crane shot got about the same amount and tone of DNMC type comments as yours and might've gotten more, but the shot had a gimmick - that usually distracts people from the challenge topic.
The Oregon coast shot probably got more DNMC type comments, but it's breathtaking, so again, people let it slide a bit.
The Colorado pic seems clearly framed to me, but still got at least one "not really framed" comment and again, the wow factor played a role here.
Your shot I think is great and it is no better or weaker on the challenge relevance than most of the others - I don't think the score had much to do with the framing.
Crayon, one of those "not strong examples" won the first framing challenge, and IS a classic example of framing. That's why Zoomdak did it.
I know that. Didn't say it was a bad photo, but personally dont think it is a very strong example for "framing", that's all. On a side note - if a photo is worth a 10, but dont really fit the challenge THAT much, it becomes a 9, or maybe an 8, and it would still win the rest of the competition - fitting the challenge or not.
