I know this has been asked and answered, but my poor little pea brain has limited disk storage with lots of overwrites and bad sectors...

Can one use the perspective aspect of the cropping tool in Photoshop to correct that phenomenon Rikki can explain but I can't remember what it's called? All I want to do is square it up a touch. Yes or no for basic editing rules?

I promise I'll write it down somewhere. Just don't expect me to remember where I wrote it down.

Perspective distortion....

It's not done with the crop tool... it's done under edit/transform/perspective from the menu...

If you're talking perspective correction, then it's not allowed in basic, but in advanced you can use it (carefully) to correct, but not create something new.

What about using skew, distort, scale, free transform and the other options under "transform"? Can you use those as well as to fix perspective? A lot of times the perspective tool by itself just doesn't do the job.

Hmmm... I'll have to figure that one out. Right now I just use the crop tool, check the perspective box, and it lets me move a single corner to correct the perspective. But since it's not allowed in basic, I shall regroup and rethink... :-)
