Would that hold up in their courts? Probably not, as I see that their way of thinking is completely archaic.
I can only guess that their law doesn't allow them to force the guy to take a paternity test. And nobody's going to take one voluntarily if it spells a death sentence.
I can't believe what is happening to that poor woman. A paternity test would be a good thing but I think that stoning a woman to death for having sex outside of marriage is so barbaric and sickening that I can't fathom the reality of it.

Actually it is where else can us shut ins of the American media get other world views that in our own country are not discussed in the news and media lest the programers lose precious ratings points for being unpopular and the advertising $$$$$$$$ that goes with it!

Yes, she was aquitted partly due to her being questioned by the police without her lawyer present when she confessed to the 'crime'. They must have learned this by watching American cop shows! In any case, it a harsh punishment for such and act, and in this case, she's divorced and wants to marry the father of the child.
On a side note, we in the U.S. can't really look down at other country's systems of law. Not after the whole O.J. Simpson incident.

Havent you guys read your Bible? It quite clearly states that death is the punishment for adultery. Stoning is just the local custom and is probably no worse than hanging or the electric chair.

Yes, there are problems in the USA. I find it nice that we are interested in what goes on elsewhere. We are all a part of the human race. We have only each other. Maybe we Americans are interested because it was brought to our attention and we are not in the habit of ignoring things that bother us deep to our core.
