Can anyone tell me if i can use Canon 540EZ Flash with my camera???

I have been offered one.. am justcurius if i should take it or not...

i have no idea what i need.. specialy not now... darn drugs...

I think those are for film cameras only. You want the EX for digital

How much were you going to pay for it? Or was it going to be given to you? I ask this because it might work on the XT but only in manual mode. It works that way on the 10D and 300D. It does not support ETTL for digital. If it's free and you don't mind setting it up manually to use everytime, then take it and play with it. Maybe it can be used as a slave unit with a EX model. That's something someone else will have to answer for you.

i was guna pay 1/3 of the original price its worth.....

i dont feel well exepting things as gifts

The ones I've seen online go for about $125 used. I think they would be worth less than that if you are gonna try and use it for the XT. If you pay $40-50 that wouldn't be bad for something to play around with and get SOME use out of. And like I said, if you can use it as a slave later, that's a bonus. Do some searching online to see what it's possibilities are.

edited to add: Me personally, I wouldn't buy it. Save your money for a flash that works for your camera. I have the Sigma DG 500 Super. It's a competent flash for $230. It will do more than I will ever need it for.
