Field of Bales
I feel this one would have more depth with about -1/3 to -1/2 stop of exposure. That would give the vast field of green more appeal for me. At the same time, above the horizon is significantly over exposed and blown out. A graduated neutral density filter will resolve that issue for you (I just ordered two of them, one for each lens). You can always edit in a different sky to improve it, but that is not challenge legal. I've done that with quite a few shots ofmy own for display, printing, etc.
Compositionally, the bales seem very far away, and you have a shadow line in the foreground. A few steps forward would have excluded the shadow line and brought the bales a little closer.

Same issue with the sky.. ND filters will work wonders... Flash on low power would have shed some light on the bale, bringing out some of its detail and color. Compositionally, It is better for main subjects to be off center. (have you heard of the rule of thirds?).
