Well it's finally happened,, after all my efforts at (( shooting for a 5)))
I went to bed last night with a 6.2+ on my past shot and woke up w/ a 5.1..aaaaarghhhhhh
Now I know how the rest of you feel.. dang It was the first time I ever saw a 6 associated w/ something of mine and I was doing a reserved but exhuberant happy dance around the computer!
Ah well,, early days and I'm sure the low scores are because everyone was cranky w/ the site being down.
And now EVERYONE will go back and redo their votes.... right????

I completely agree. I always give the 10s a comment, but I sometimes struggle to give a comment to the 1s because I can't find any merit or a nice way to say, "What the hell were you thinking?"
If I can find a delicate way, I do try most of the time...
I also find it hard to comment on 1s. Normally i dont bother becuase i don't want to upset the person. As much as people say they want comments from people who vote 1, i think in reality they would be quite upset about it, and would rather blame the 1 on a troll voter.
this always happens. the scores early on are often totally not where they are going to end up .. often much higher at the beginning, but occasionally lower ...
that's why i don't even really pay attention to them until i'm up to about 60 or so votes. that's more like where it's really going to end up because there's a large enough sample size by then for it to have some stability.

You're absolutely right! I did the test in the garden challenge and I nevr got so many PMs!!!!! They ripped me to shreds! :-)

Just tell the truth,your photo is blurry,have no idea what is it about and don't think belongs into challenge!
Seems whatever you do on this sýte is never enough, either people have completely rotten taste or we are all morons at the art of photography, either way it's tough on the old photo ego. Oh well better luck next time old chaps!
