A quick test to see what it did with the default settings put vignetting on the image (and darkened it considerably). Adding vignetting has been known to cause people problems in the past.
Basicly, if it adds something to the image, or removes something the SC felt was significant, then no it would not be legal. If used for subtle effects it might be fine -- and by subtle I mean 'not noticable'.
Filters are tricky.
