This not so little fella turned up while I was power-washing the patio at the weekend. I certainly had Kiwi's Gator shot in mind while I was lying in a pool of water trying to get a decent angle.
We've also been invaded by butterflies & moths this year, a few shots from the past week can be seen here.
Comments, as always, appreciated.
Opinions on whether any are worth making available as prints also appreciated.

I love this picture, it's really beautiful! The browns and pinks on the critter and the tanish background go really well together. And the eyes are so good!

George, cheers for the id's - that's given me a good starting point for some searching. Turns out the Buddleia they're going mad for is nicknamed the Butterfly bush!

Bod: Those are great photos. It's amazes me how much photography ends up teaching me about other things. Being behind the camera gives us a reason to take a good look at the world. Even though we shouldn't need the excuse, most of us are very busy with other things and we do.

Did you not catch the link to the gallery? I only took 7 or 8 shots before returning him to the jungle that I call a garden. Poor fella must have been terrified ... my face 6 inches away!

Nice shots, especially the backlighting on the second one.
They're definitely the same as mine. They have the same rings as the ringlets I've searched out on the web, but more markings overall.
I feel like Pitsaman doing this, but what the hey ... here's a couple more:
These were taken last night, with a lot less light but no puddles. I don't think it's the same toad, it seemed a bit smaller, though the markings are very similar.
Oh, and anybody who says 'veranda' oop north will likely get their lights punched out for being a soft southern b****** ; )

Post processing consisted of minor crops, auto-levels, slight curves adjustment and USM after resizing. The last 2 also have a +10 saturation boost (maybe a bit too much?).

I'd guess a full family, however many that is. I've seen the kids but haven't managed to get shots of them yet. I did nearly get one with the lawnmower though :-/
