Can some one recomend me a decent slave flash? around $150. or so.
There are a TON of canon speedlites on e-bay but how do i know it will work with my built in camera flash? there is no hotshoe on my camera so i need it to fire along with my cameras built in flash.
Whats the difference between the cheap slave flash and the good ones?
Check 'em out $22 a piece... They come in really hand. They see light changes and they fire. Really simple. Get used to using your camera in manual or Av Modes.
I use mine in manual most of the time but indoors the S2 is lacking. 100 ISO indoors needs about 1/60th to get a good shot and that is pushing it. Its a good camera if it has good lighting
Before buying a slave flash make sure your camera doesn't have a preflash. Incase it does have preflash, can preflash be turned of incase not than you will have to buy a wein digital peanut slave, it design to ignore preflash and fire on second flash
P.S I did something similar with my canon a40, instead of slave flash i fired my studio strobes that were attacted to peanut slave with help of PC chord

The A70 has a preflash if its in redeye, the S2 doesnt.
What about a good flash like the canon speedlite and one of those hotshoe triggers? The hotshoe triggers say they turn an older SLR flash into a slave.
I want one that has a rotating head and i can mount it to one of those little mini tripods.
Just bought this one and received it last friday. Plugs right into a standard light bulb socket. Works great, but cant really take it with you.

No, they are very simple. So definitely make sure to turn off the red-eye reduction on your cam.

Do you recomend any? wich would you prefer? are there any that has a stepped level of flash control? i know on the S2 there is only 3 levels. Fill, medium and high. Ide like a few more adjustments to how bright and stuff the flash is.

Mike, the optical triggers will fire pretty much any standard ISO hot shoe flash (ie older flashes). So, if the flash unit has multiple power settings, you have that versitility.
I think (not sure about this) that Pentax flashes and those for Pentax cameras will work with them also. Someone correct me, if I'm wrong about the Pentax thing.
