I've always wondered why there wasn't a "Focal Length" box.
And then I got to thinking about how confusing it would be with all the crop factors involved in the camera (actual focal length of the lens, or 35mm equivalent?), and then if you cropped the photo in Photoshop, the EXIF-provided focal length data has no meaning, so I figured that is why it wasn't there.
But having a lens entry would be good. Maybe pre-populate the field with "Standard" or "N/A" so the P&S users wouldn't have to do any extra work.
(Searching would be cool, but unfortunately using resized, 640-pixel-maximum images to evaluate the quality of a lens is kind of pointless... but I agree that it would be nice to have the info.) |
