I think if the topic is right angles, then the main subject should be composed of right angle(s). if that is the case then the are a few submission that did not meet the requirements of the topic.
I read the instructions to mean that the 90 degree angle(s) had to be the strength of the image and, thus, whether the angle(s) is easily evident or obfuscated (as in the Gates photo Pitsaman posted) I try to score based on the power, emotion and creativity the right angle(s) bring to the composition. If the emotive or creative or structural power of the photo lies in a right angle I have tried to score highly for that. I did score lower a couple of images that had right angles prominently displayed but that were overexposed or OOF but I always commented as to the reason (at least in this challenge I tried to comment on anything below a 5 that I gave)
My photo has over 50 right angles, but I'll go out on a limb and predict that my score distribution will be bi-modal. I'll have a hump around the 2 score because some people couldn't see the right angles or how they emphasized the subject. Then I'll have a hump about the 5 score from people that were pleased with photo and recognized what I was trying to do. If the distribution isn't bi-modal it will definitely be skewed with the long end of the tail toward the lower end of the scale.
I've read many of the threads about the scoring and rating, but based on the comments I received, I think the bigger issue with this challenge is the level of reading comprehension. Right Angles don't have to be the subject of the photo....they have to produce the strength.
I'll say I have gotten alot of comments about mine not having a right angle, and this just shows me that people don't always think. First off my picture, didn't show it well, but the objects were at right angles to each other, but what I like about the picture was that on the 2-d plane of the picture, the objects in the picture are visually at right angles to each other.

Mine has right angles, but isn't the actual subject of the picture. I knew wouldn't go over too well with the legalistic folks. It's ok though, cuz I really wanted to show my subject anyway. I knew it wouldn't come out at the top of the list...lol
P.S. I must say that my image apparantly has other problems as well. Some have said it's oe too. It doesn't appear so on my monitor though. I just wanted to clarify that I don't think mine is doing so poorly just because of the subject matter, but also because of quality... :-( I think...no...I KNOW I need a new camera.
