I'd like to see some samples of photos from the 10D's directly out of the camera, untouched, with the camera set in AF mode (green square). Please tell me what lens you used, too. I'd like to see what others get versus what I got. I'd be especially interested in anyone who has the same lens I had Canon 28-105 f4.6-8.
I have a new 10D and finally got a couple of hours to shoot photos at a local fair. I was hoping to get some shots for the "Inside looking out" challenge while learning the new camera. Autofocus was a little tricky until I set it to only use the center point. I'll post a couple shots straight from camera as soon as I can get home from the office.
Just as a note. I think autofocus is set on the lens. The Full Auto mode (green square) tells the camera to set all functions, including flash. You can still get autofocus when using the other shooting modes.
This is the next day at a zoo. The colors look blah because the snow had just melted and the sky was very overcast. I did do a bit of post processing ... Levels and USM.
Here´s some pictures from my trip to the Kolmarden Zoo in Sweden last Friday and Saturday. I have just rezised them. I´ll give you the full exif from a "typical" shot. You can see there that I use +1 on both sharpness and saturation. I also like darker pictures therefore -1/3 on exposure compensation. All this can of course be done afterwards.

The supplied photoshop is really good. Photoshop Elements, I think. The most important post shot editing are 1) Levels, 2) Unsharp Mask, and 3) the ability to crop. With those 3 tools you can have great controle over the image for displaying on the Web and for printing.
Have a look at Phil's samples from his 10D review. There are 27 of them across the top, and you can get the full-resolution, direct-from-camera JPEG's for any of them. The 10D is a great camera, and a good value for what it is capable of -- I love mine, even if I can't take ribbon-winning photos like Jacko!
