Does anyone know of a good photography school around Northern NJ? (I know NYC has tons, but I really don't feel like getting the bus after work - driving to NYC is suicide)

I honestly don't care how long/ or even which class. I'm interested in a lot of topics (light, portraits, landscapes, nudes, whatever) - but the main thing is that I recently moved to NJ (well...year ago), and I don't know anyone except my husband, and he works afternoon/evening, so we barely see each other. I'm feeling so bored and lonely :( So I wanna take classes to meet people and learn, of course.

So..any tips? :)

I did a Google search for: photography workshop "new Jersey"

This gave me lots of leads. I'm sure you can find something of interest to you.

I'd also suggest that you check out local colleges and universities. Some will let you take regular courses without being in a program. Others offer non-credit classes--which are ususally a lot less expensive.

Another possibility is to look for camera clubs in your area. If you find a good one, you will be able to meet a bunch of photographers who will know all about the photographic resourses in your area.

Let me know if you come across anything good. I too live in northern NJ and I work in NYC. I'm looking to learn more and get more involved in this new hobby of mine, but feel lost at times. I think a class or group to photograph with will help immensely.
