Anyone interested in meeting Saturday for some shooting? I'd actually be able to meet near Shenandoah University, or that huge Sheetz off of 81 heading towards the river...

No way this weekend (both work and family commitments), but thanks for the invitation. That road is Route 7, by the way. Shenandoah University is the very next exit heading south, on the right. Good luck hooking up.

I can't make it this weekend, but there is definitely a lot to photograph in the Shenandoah area if you're into nature and landscapes - just take a trip on Skyline Drive - even if you don't do any hiking, there's some great scenery and wildlife to be seen from the road.
hrmm...where is skyline drive from route 7? The only road I found was one where there was nowhere to stop, everything was labeled "PRIVATE PROPERTY" and even the driveways had signs on them not to trespass...lol
Take 7 to 81 South, 81 South to 66 towards Front Royal. That's the northern part of the park. There should be signs for Skyline Drive. Might not be a good time to visit though...I just saw that there is a forest fire in the southern end of the park right now...
