I just loaded an image into my workshop with the expectation that I could order a print without submitting it for public availability. The problem is that the shot is a 6x24 panoramic and the ordering options to not allow me to select that specific size. I would submit it to the public print area, but the quality is not very good (has more of a personal significance). Do I order the 16x24 and cut off the excess? Sorry if this has been addressed before.

I noticed the same thing about one of my shots that is available in the public store in 6x12 and 12x24. but does not appear as an option in the private print store.
something about the way the panormas are billed that they are not available through the private store. Simply submit it as a normal one and put in the description that you are not planning on selling it publicly. once it is approved buy it at the base price and then from your portfolio, hide it.

I'm not sure that works. Mine is available for sale to the public, yet I still can't order it privately in the proper format.
You can't buy your panoramic prints privately. Submit it for public sale, set the price at the base price, buy your print from the public sale, then remove it if you don't want it sold publically.

I need a way to create a 'private' print that someone else can buy. I have a situation where I would like to sell some 16x20 prints to ONE customer and no one else. I can buy them myself and then ship them to the customer, but it would be easier if they could buy them directly.
Another workaround it to gang up two or three panoramic images (or copies) on one larger canvas, and then output that from your private store.
Good idea! I think I'll do that (probably cheaper too).

Yeah, I could find use in this as well, but I figured it was in the too hard to do catagory.

Hmmm, I don't know if it was a fluke or what, but I wanted to order a 12 X 4 shot of one of mine. I selected the 12 X 12 print, opted to have a white border on top and bottom and when I received it, it was 36 X 12. I mentioned it before, but no one else seemed to have this experience, so it may have just been me.

You can have them printed and drop-shipped to the customer. If you are concerned about payment, have them send a check beforehand and don't deposit it until shipment is made, or they can give you credit card billing info (as if you were a real business) and you can use that to place the order for the customer.
Or (gasp), put those pics at Ofoto, or another place where the print galleries are accessible by invitation only.
