So I'm finally going for an interview for an internship and I have to put together an official portfolio. My question is, do I choose one type of work and have it surrounding just that topic, like only portraits, or do I put together a few from all of my types of photographs? If it were sections I think it would be portraits, landscapes, and photojournalism/sports. Does it depend on the photographer? His name is jimmy williams//www.jwproductions.com. You can sort by style or variety or preference - but be sure that whatever you choose is PERFECT. Better to show them 5 perfect shots than 50 okay ones!
His specialty seems to be bringing lights along on moving objects such as boat, cars, motorcycles. Impressive portfolio. I agree that lighting will be the key to your portfolio.
Looks like a lot of his shots have some impressive lighting techniques. You may want to include some of yours with strong knowledge of lighting.
I was sort of thinking the same and purposefully scheduled a few studio shoots before hand. I just got some last night that I am quite pleased with so maybe I can get one or two more on Tuesday night. Man, I'm getting nervous. I only have a handful of shots with studio lighting.
