I just wanted to vent this out ..how do you guys deal with a comment that totally neglects the foto's artistic merits, but instead, dwells on how the foto violates his/her perception of "good conduct" ? It's really quite amusing how my foto provoked this kind of comment. It's just a pic of a .... for heaven's sake (ooops, I'm beginning to feel that even popular expressions alluding to religion is politically incorrect in this environment). On another note, I enjoyed scoring the Garden challenge, btw. Very nice diversion from work!

I figure if that person didn't make mention of the artistic merits of a particular photo, perhaps they didn't find much. Maybe they thought it was just average, nothing exceptional of note, nor anything blasphemous or obscene of note. At any rate, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Its one person's opinion and unless that person is someone you hold in high esteem, don't put too much emphasis on it.

Well actually, I don't even know the guy or girl for that matter. I just find it amusing that he/she got into a moralizing mode with my submission. With what was written, I wouldn't be surprised to find out if it got accompanied by a nasty 1. Oh well, you please some, you lose some.

If it's a well articulated argument, even if one-sided and from a moral point of view, you'd stand a good chance to retort. If it's outright 'self-righteous', in other words, if the the writer's ego interfered with his ability to think clearly and coherently, you'd probably be better off to let him drift toward his destiny without giving him the benefit of acknowledgement. Choices...
