I think the REAL interesting thing is that #175, this one:
241 x 160 pixels, scored at 2.694, while #173, the full 640-pixel version, scored at 3.275. I'd have reversed the order of them (in fact, I did); for me the smaller version showed at least a tiny creative dimension, a "diminishing nothingness" as it were, and deserved a higher score.
Certainly, if anyone ever needed proof of the "bigger is better" mindset in DPC, this is it :-)
When I was 15, I was pronounced clinically dead by the doctors and consequently received my 7th sacrament (I'm Roman Catholic). For those who don't know what the 7th sacrament is - Annointing of the Dead.
For close to 5 minutes I had passed away and what was interesting was I saw the entire event from above the room... as if I were floating. Darkness isn't what I saw. Pure white isn't either. But rather an open field where lightness abounds. There was no tunnel of light, no stairway to heaven, but rather just a road that seemd to go for miles.
I was revived and kept in the ICU. After I woke up, the doctors asked and tested me for any abnormalities due to the lack of oxygen in my brain and I tested fine. And then I asked my mom why was there a priest in the room. She was shocked as the priest arrived a few minutes after I had "gone".
The afterlife has a different meaning to me than most. I've been there even for just a fleeting moment.

Wowsers! That's an amazing story Rikki!
...this cracks me up:
only on dpc could someone relate a story like that, and someone replies: " Too bad you didn't have your camera."
hehehehehhe
:-)
Good one yanko! I'm sure you're not the only one thinking it :-P
i showed my Afterlife image to my dad this past weekend and he looked at me wondering why I did something like that. But I assured him that it was just photography and an experiment on a technique so it wasn't really how I see afterlife.
Needless to say, I am very fortunate and thankful about everything that has happened to me. Life is precious and sometime we often forget this fact. I also celebrate two birthdays. One in September (my real birth date) and one on May 16th. So I guess I'll be 35 going on 21 this year ;)
