I use a 20" iMac. Beautiful machine. Zeus is right, just do it.
The LCD screen is bright (especially since I'm coming from a CRT) but properly calibrated, it's wonderful. Tablets are cool, but I've never used one. Many hardcore photo editors do though. Your work flow won't change much if you used PS on Windows. But you will appreciate the new OS.
yes i was a mac user back in the first days of the power mac when a meg of ram was $400 and a 40 meg HD was huge. The speed of the new intel mac's is getting too tempting not to take part.
As soon as funds allow I will DEFINITELY go to MAC. I am converted that's for sure! (I am also waiting for funds to allow for lighting and lenses too, heck, I just need funds in general!)
From my understanding PS and PS elements for the intel mac's wont be out till 2007 has any one heard any different
I wouldn't be surprised if this is true, though I haven't heard actual reports to this effect. Adobe is historically slow sometimes in keeping up with Apple. But, I've heard reports that Apple's Rosetta technology actually runs the current version of PS FASTER on Intel chips (under emulation) than native on G5 hardware.

This is true, so it's probably better to wait a year before buying an Intel iMac. However the 20" PowerPC-based iMac is still available at a very good price (they dropped the price $200 when the Intel version came out) and would certainly outperform the new version running PS under Rosetta (the PowerPC emulation layer).

Everything that I've read says that this is NOT true. PS is much faster on the G5. But, again, that's just what I've read.
