so what are we expecting this week? thank god the catch says no flowers. I like flower shots, but not THAT much as to go through say 100 of them! LOL Be creative people, insect shots and plants are starting to get tiring (at least for myself, frankly).
I have to thank to the administrators to avoid that "in the garden" challenge will be another "flower" challenge. I don´t like see flowers, and as shadow says I think it will be horrible see a challenge with 100 flowers.

what about weeds? (C: basically could be a flower. Weed is only a plant that you do not want growing somewhere
I'm willing to bet there'll be a bunch of flower photos from people who haven't read the instructions properly: and given the emphasis of the instruction I hope they get voted down suitably.

I agree that some shots get repetitive and boring. The trouble is, insects are actually fascinating things (to me anyway), and they're accessible, so people shoot them a lot. If I had an underwater camera I'd be shooting ocean critters - it's like another planet down there - but insects will have to do for now.
I think the 'be creative' comment is the most important element here, otherwise we'll have to start saying 'no buildings, people, streets, cars, sports, landscapes, trees, hands, faces, nudes, reflections, lights...'
To those of you who say you can't have flowers in your photo you need to re-read the challenge, it says...
"Simple enough -- compose a photograph somehow related to the garden. Here's the catch... the main subject of your photograph may NOT be a flower."
It doesn't say it can't have flowers in it! I can hardly wait to see all the bumble bees on flowers, the kids playing in the garden and the family pet snoozing among the flowers!
