What do you think of this... I found this shot I took a while back, and converted it to B&W and ran it through NeatImage. What improvements do you think it needs:
I like this shot quite a bit too... it's a very strong composition with one minor flaw (IMO). The tremolo bar should be rotated over to the right where it isn't crossing the strings :)
I like this a lot, you have excellent clarity an have controlled depth of field very well. I only question the reflection on the left side, the sort of rectangular one, I think it would be much better if it were not there. Nice work.

I agree that if the whammy bar were rotated 80 - 90 degrees clockwise about it's axis it would look more natural (from a player perspective). Other than that, I don't see anything else, IMHO, that is compositionally displeasing about it's current orientation. Excellent shot. :)
LOL, I just realized that the reflection on the right, that Autool mentioned, is actually the trim molding on my sliding glass doors to the backyard! I've never really noticed it until now. Maybe because the molding reflection lines up perfectly with the inner volume button? :D

If it had been in a challenge I certainly wouldn't have marked you down for the position of the whammy. I just think it would be more natural rotated CW. I'd have given it no less than 8 if it had met the challenge topic. Now that you mention it, I can see what looks to me like a fluted moulding, correct? It only adds to the shot.
I think you'd need to shape the near end of the instrument with light a little - the strap button looks completely out of place at very first glance, as there isn't enough definition to the edge of the bpody there.
All the other compliments also apply from me - though I prefer the tremolo arm where it is - adds a contrast of direction with the strings which would be missing without that angle. And it echoes the shape of the scrath-plate too.
