I want to submit a picture. I downloaded one of the programs that were suggested in the help files so I could get the picture's stats. (PIE) It gives shutter speed and aperture but doesn't mention ISO. Shutter speed is 1/60. I have no idea what ISO is even supposed to be. Any help appreciated
It is notable that the ISO, shutter speed, and aperature are not required fields in order to submit. They simply help others who view your shot after the challenge ends to understand the methods that were used to produce the shot.
It's a good idea to read up on the different terms and methods of photography, but you can still submit without knowing your ISO setting.
Wow you guys are right on the ball! Thanks to both of you. The glossary is great and very helpful. I'm a real newbie to photography. Thanks for letting me know I don't have to have the ISO. I thought it was required. I'm off to submit :)
I had this problem early on, too. My camera just doesn't record it. Then I read the info on my camera and found out it had only one, fixed, ISO, presumably why they don't record the one used. So it may be that the manual for your camera can resolve your curiosity, too; or it may not (it took me this long to figure out mine, I have no clue if it even applies to anyone else's).
