Now there is summer and always in the summer there comes many thousand people to Iceland. I live in Isafjordur, that is a small town on Westfjords, and lately I have seen many foreign people walking around my neigbourhoud with digital cameras. (mustly Canon EOS. I wish I hade enough money to buy me one of those)
What I mean by this thread is to check if someone here on DPchallenge has went to Iceland, and then maybe Isafjord ... I would like to see photos that you took while you where in Iceland because you see my country with other eyes then I do and I realy like to see what you think is worth photograph.
I will maybe ask this question again in the end of the summer :)
You might regret asking because I took an incredible number of photos in your beautiful country when I was there with Barbara (BAMartin) in May. We had a great time and enjoyed your beautiful country immensly, even though we didn't stop in Isarfjordur (we ended up passing by closely instead, sorry).

me too! I say that almost everytime I see a photo from Iceland on here. I think that has a lot to due with the fact that the photographers from Iceland, and those visiting too, are very talented. It looks like an awesome place.

Love your pictures but it took me long time to find out what this (//www.pbase.com/franziskalang/x2003iceland_day5&page=3) photo was of but finaly I got it.
By watching your photos I saw places in Iceland that I have never seen. I think I will take a time next year to drive around Iceland and see all these places I have never seen before.
I've never been to Iceland but it is somewhere I'd love to visit someday. From what I've seen on TV and in pictures, it must be very beautiful to see in person.
BTW, have you ever visited Newfoundland? The reason I ask is that every year, at least twice, there is a charter flight from Iceland to St. John's, NL. It makes big news when we get visitors en masse from another country who come mainly to shop. Apparently, what makes St. John's an attractive destination for Icelanders is our exchange rate and our proximity to Iceland, ie. we are the closest in North America to you. Maybe we can have an Iceland/Newfoundland GTG someday. Cheers from the Rock.
Iceland was incredible. I have never taken so many photos in just 6 days. If you go to DPC Prints and search on Iceland, you will find beautiful photographs, many from Icelandic photograhers.
It was actually a couple of very talented photographers from DPC that gave me the inspiration to go to Icleand, before this site came along, I never had the desire to visit. After seening the beautiful country via photographs, it became my obcession. I was very grateful to Franziska Lang for traveling with me. I have beautiful memories!

No I havent visites Newfoundland but maybe I will do that when I will become rich and can begin to travel around the world.
I will go to US next year to visit a friend of mine who live there and I will also go to Spain next summer so I don't think I will travel more in next year ... maybe 2005? I'll call you when I arrive :)

This sign says, "Laugarvegur SEX" that means house number 6 (six) in the street "Laugarvegur"
