The blue angels shots are fantastic. 5 & 6 are the best compositionaly, but the moments you've captured in 3, 4, and 4-5 ... well, words escape me! Were you in burst mode for these?

well, I always have it in multi-shot mode. It will take 9 at 3 a second and then drops to about 1 a sec. Thanks for the kind words.
Here's a question for you... how long of a lens were you shooting through? The reason I ask is that the shots from the only airshow I tried to shoot (USAF 50th Anniversary, Nellis AFB) back in my film days turned out pitiful! (Unlike yours, which have captured the essence of the flight display.)

Thanks for the praise. I used canon 70-200 2.8 IS. The shots were handheld, I had a monopod but the spot I was in made it akward to use. As easy as it would seem to shoot planes,it was more dificult then I thought it would be because they are moving really fast.
The shots of when they are pasing each other, I kept my left eye open, focused on the right plane, panned to the left and started shooting when I saw the left plane in my left eye.
I wish I had the 1D for this. At 8fps I would have grabbed a few more fish ;-)
I was just going to post a question about the legality of selling airshow photos. Can I would be the question? I will if Im not breaking any laws by doing it. I know you cant sell NFL or Baseball photos, im not sure if the same rules apply to Airshows.
My guess would be that you would be okay if they didn't have any signs up, or anything like that. The NFL and MLB probably tell you on your ticket, right?

Yes unfortunatly I did. I didnt have the free space to shoot raw, unfortunatly, and trying not to blow out the sky which for the most part was usually white, underexposed them a bit to fix later. I can send you the original of BA_6 if you want to play around with it. Im pretty new to photoshops tricks so have alot to learn.
