I want to upload a lot of photos. Mostly family stuff to get printed for my mom. I want to give DPC Prints my business and I have before but I have a few questions. Is there a cap on the amount of photos uploaded? And size limit? I know my portfolio has a 10mb limit but I don't intend to keep these in my portfolio. So what am I doing wrong here. I think this is the only website that lets you upload a zip file full of photos for printing. That's why I want to print some pics here. I'm clueless.
You need to upload JPEGs to your portfolio, These can be small/low-quality because they are just to create a link. These WILL count towards the 10mb quota.
Once you have those images there, select each one, and follow the directions to upload the printable image (large!). Look at the buttons at the bottom of the page. These will NOT count against the storage quota.
At this point, you should be able to order your own prints. If you want to sell them, you'll have to submit it for approval. Once approved, you'll then have to set the public prices and activate them.
Ok well I'll give this a shot. This kind of sucks though. I think there should be an easier way of doing it. These pics are straight out of the cam. My mom doesn't care about Unsharp mask and Auto-levels. I was hoping to not have change the images.
you don't have to. just leave it all blank and upload the small image (resized even to dpc lengths) then submit the original (bigger) version as the "printable file" :)

You can resize the "placeholder" image for the portfolio down to a 60x90 thumbail if you want--it's just something to act as a "button" to access the printable file. You might want to at least crop your image to one of the standard ratios.
I know - it just seemed like he wanted the least work possible, so since we are all pretty familiar with dpc workflow, I was just saying he could use that. :)
If you are uploading the pix only to print them for yourself ... what's to stop you from uploading one small pic of anything multiple times (so you don't have to resize the actual image) and then attach each one of your print files to that. Just make sure your title is descriptive enough so you order the right prints of the right ones ... :)
