I'd really be curious to see what you consider to be your all-time favorite photo. I've been thinking about this today, and I keep coming back to this one. It's a scan from a photo I took in 1995 on the Isle of Capri in Italy. It's not the best scan in the world, but this is one of those shots that reminds me of one of the most breath-taking views I've ever seen.
The edge of the hillside went straight down for something like 2,000 feet to the beautiful waters of the Mediterranean below, and there were no guard rails or anything between you and the steep drop off. It was really an amazing place.

Nice! I really like that one orussell but it's not my favorite. I have to be an egoist on this and say my all time favorite pic is one I took last Nov. at Kailua beach... unaware I was on the lowest resolution :*(
I just looked at a bunch of Ansel Adams photos and find it bizarre that anyone would pick the rose on driftwood as the best. I think it's an excellent photo as well, but how do you make a choice?!
Anyway, while looking though some of the stuff, I found this photo by Ansel Adams from Yosemite and I immediately thought of one of my Yosemite photos. Of course, mine isn't nearly as good, but it still made me smile. :)
I'm not sure if this thread is about our favorite photo of our own or by other artists here on DPC or in general. I think my favorite photo of my own is one I took three years ago of the Matterhorn in Switzerland with a sheep directly in front of it. I took it with a disposable camera. As far as other people's stuff, it's really hard to say. There are so many great photos on here.
I do, but I don't want to post it. I have searched all of the internet, and none of the scans and images I have seen of it does it justice. Its nearly infinite sense of tonal subtlety. The exquisite sepiatoning. It is just an incredible picture, and I don't believe a screen can do it justice.
I do have the picture in a book (20th century photography, museum Ludwig Cologne, published by Taschen), and I am attempting to scan it now.
As for my own personal favourite - of the ones I have taken myself, I think this one comes highest, with this and this following closely.
I didn't realize this wasn't just about our own photos. There have been a few really wild ones I've seen on photosig that just absolutely rock. Don't know if I can dig them up, but I'll try

Well, my actual intent was "What is YOUR OWN favorite photo," but I guess I really didn't state that in the original post :)

This photo is probably at the top of my personal collection list. I have about 5 photos in my own portfolio that I really think are excellent.
When I get outside of my own portfolio, I coulnt even begin to name my favorites. There are simply too many.
As I have discussed with some here before, my personal preference are changing and will probalby continue to change as time passes. What is a favorite for me today may not be tomorrow.
I think it would maybe be easier to name your favorite photographer of all time rather than choosing photos... I dunno... My favorite photos sorta resemble my own portfolio in their diversity. I haven't settled into a specific niche yet that really allows me to define what I like and what I don't like.
