I'm happy with my score for the Letter B challenge but I am wondering if I entered the best treatment for my photo. Which photo do you like better?

Gosh, after looking at them both several times, I think I like the colored version the best. Both of them are nice, but I like the natural tones on the rock and sand. The picture in de-saturation mode makes it appear a little flat to me. Nice photo. I scored this a 7 in the challenge and I may have scored it higher with the color, I think.

I found the lack of colour apart from the blue in the shirt in the original image to be a bit odd. So I prefer the natural colour over the desaturated one.
Then you would have Blues, Browns and Balanced Boulders

I prefer the colored one. I gives more detail IMO.

The first looks as if it was taken on the moon, and the second looks like mars :-)

I prefer mars.

i actually prefer the increased contrast in the desat version.

maybe if the color one wasnt quite as saturated ...

I like the black and white, but I would have desaturated compeltely instead of selectively myself. Was your intent in this photo to show the person or the rocks? Your selective desaturation tells me that you want me to look at the person.
