Man...I was on the edge of my seat and heart beating fast reading your post!!! I hope you print out your stuff on here (everywhere you post!) and just put it in a box somewhere for down the road......your writing and photography are an awesome blessing!!!

thank you ALL for your comments and continued support! i still have a ways to go to get to where i need/want to be, but it's little steps like these that lead the way. i'm not completely 'in' with the ap, yet, but i'm feeling like i've at least been invited to sit on the porch.
one thing alansfreed reminded me of that i left out OMG, no kidding, the air blast off those engines was like a category 2 hurricane! that made for some major league excitement. i tried to get some shots of the suits and skirts getting blown about, but the lighting just wasn't there ;-)
and another thing YOU GUYS ROCK! being able to share with all ya'll in my efforts, and get positive feedback on it, is what makes this site for me. honestly, i don't understand some of the petty, negative stuff that flows through this site, but i will probably try to confine myself to the more positive stuff.
and lastly...i've got to go out and shoot some more election coverage, but today got even better...

Great story, Skip. I'm enjoying all of them, vicariously reliving my own youth as it were, when every assignment was a visceral thrill, no matter how mundane.
