As some of you know tomorrow is my last day at the only job I have ever had. Leaving 13 years of service to go to a new company that has more of a retirement plan and better benefits. Better yet my schedule will put me at home more and my commute is going from 21 miles one way to 1.5 miles one way. Either way I scheduled my last day at my current job to be Wednesday. Thursday is for me photographing stuff I want to shoot. And Friday is for the house. Trying to get it painted before winter hits. This way my weekend is free for the kids. Then Monday off to a new job as (this sounds real important) "Lab Technician".
And am finally spending a day photographing for me. So look for some new stuff by Monday. Hopefully it will be good stuff.
Congrats on the new job - good luck with it. And good luck with painting before winter hits - it seems to have hit here yesterday - you can't be too far behind. :)
That is the main problem with Georgia Scott. All this week high 40's to mid 50's. Next week mid 70's. I will get it painted. Scheduled paint dat November 5th. Hey everyone one is invited but you must bring a paintbrush. ;-)
I am spraying it and as long as I get it sprayed before winter kicks in I can wait until spring to do the trim.
James, congratulations on getting the new job with the extra perks, that's awesome. I'm sure this is an exciting (and somewhat scary) endeavor for you leaving 13 years behind, but I'm sure it will be extremely rewarding for you. Best of luck to you.
As for the painting... wish I lived closer, really. ;-) Good luck with that as well. Have fun shooting Thursday, get some good stuff and share with us!
Woo Hoo!! Congrats on the new job and your day of freedom James!! Must be something in the air, we're getting our house painted (hopefully in the next couple weeks.... just waiting on getting our colors approved... darn homeowners associations!) My husband insists on doing all the home improvement projects around the house. But this is one he's happy to let someone else do. :-) Good luck with the painting! :-) Hope to see you in a couple of weeks at the GTG.

I'd be there for you, really I would. :) But... I'll probably be painting myself that weekend. But my painting is indoors, so it goes forward despite the weather. :(
Best of luck in your new job James. I also have Thursday off, going to walk down the canal and around the reed beds and try and get my shooting head on (its been off for a while now!) as tomorrow is going to be sunny and 20 deg c here in the UK! Unusually warm for October.
Edit to say: I am still uploading so if there aren't many at the link then give it a few minutes I took a total of 279 shots there today. Really felt good just to get away from everything though.
Rex - Congratulations on your new job! I hope it works out great for you. Leaving a job after that long is very difficult, no matter what the upgrade - just the risk involved can be stressful. Glad you got some time off - I know exactly how you feel about taking a day and grabbing your camera and heading out by yourself. I do it once or twice a month.
