I was referred to a website called www.freecycle.org/. They have local groups (via yahoo groups).
It is basically a forum for passing along stuff you don't need but don't necessarily want to throw out. You can OFFER or WANTED things...
So far I have cleaned my house of an old crib and some scrap metal (old car parts mostly) and a few other odds and ends, like the stuff that didn't sell at last year's yard sale!
A simple way to help out the less fortunate, or at least get rid of my excess 'treasure' very easily, and I know it won't be sitting in a landfill. |
