Hey, since everyone else is getting together, how about us DC folks get together too? Everyone else that wants to come is of course welcome. What do u guys think? Lets see how, many people reply and the we'll settle on a date and time, maybe when all this rain stops. Hope I get lots of replies!!!!
Count me in. As for time- it would of course need to be a weekend. Hmmm, and after July 4th since people need time to plan this in. What about the weekend of the 11th or the 18th?
The weekend of July 11th would be great. My birthday is the weekend of the 18th and I'll be out of town, so that's out of the question. Who's in for Saturday July 12th?
I have terrible luck, I can't make it to New York this weekend because of my Army Reserve obligation and it looks like I won't be able to make it up to DC on July 12th for the same reason. Oh well. You guys have fun.
I spent 6 months in the DC area for work, but I'm back in Colorado now. I'm sorry I'm not there for this GTG. My hard Drive crashed and I lost all of my DC photos that I took while in the area. I would love to be there, but can't. Have some fun for me!!
Considering the weekend that we are planning to do this. Can anyone suggest a good place to park a car for the day? I say as long as there isn't any huge demonstration/rally going on we could meet somewhere along the mall or maybe the Washington Monument? If there is a demonstration where would be a good place to meet?
I'd like to put in a vote for the 12th. I know from experience that trying to get around in DC is two steps beyond insane on July 4 weekend, even on the Metro.
I'd also just as soon NOT deal with driving back up 95 though the toll plaza backups that weekend as well.
It doesnt matter to me what day it is, 5th or 12th is fine. I didnt think of the 4th when I mentioned the 5th. I know it is crazy in DC that weekend. How about this, we meet at the washington memorial on the 12th.
