i am getting so lazy .. this is all i have done today..
i have to be productive tomorrow.. i have to clean house..or at least take pictures of bubbles for the new challenge...and then straighten up..
I really want to know are there any other lazy houseewives out there??
I am not the kind who is scary and dirty and have dog poop all over the place like the people on oprah... i can really clean... but i hate too.. i would rather do other things.. anything for that matter
Well, I'm male so I'm not a "wife" but I live alone and this place makes me neglect my housekeeping big-time, yup. Then somebody's coming to dinner and I have to clean twice as hard as I ought to have to...
I work during the day part time and yes to me my house is a mess, and I get mad no one picks up after thereselves. I would much rather spend my free time relaxing than cleaning. When I was out of work I spent so much time on dpc and taken pics my house was a disaster!!!
lol you people. HIRE SOMEONE. Believe it or not maids or cleaning services are not expensive for basic cleaning and think your probably giving someone else a job.
edit: If your a stay home mom/wife then you honestly should have NO excuse. Thanks Rex.
If my wife stayed at home I would refuse to hire help. We have recently sold our rental home and freed up a lot of money so I am thinking of getting a cleaning service. If so I am going to get them to do everything even fold clothes.
We both do the housework but we both work also. If she didn't work I would expect her to do all the housework, and on the flipside if I didn't work and she did I would do the housework and not expect her to do any.
My wife is a stay at home mom. We have three kids in the house; ages 3, 10, 12. Believe me when my work day is done she is SO glad to see me. This is my second marriage, the first time around (10 years) there weren't any kids around and housework was a breeze! It took me a little while to recognize the difference (the extra effort my wife puts in) - her "job" requires nearly double the effort many put in at a full-time job doing something outside the house (myself included - otherwise I couldn't play here).
I don't know if you've walked in similar shoes, if you have, then I guess we have a different perspective - if not, don't be too quick to judge the amount of work that goes into maintaining a household (especially one with kids).
I do need to thank you for making me reevaluate our little world here at home...we've discussed hiring some help in the past and thought it was outside our means, but now I'm going to take another look. If it works out (hiring a maid service) I'm sure my wife will thank you too. ;^)

without prejudice But if she's a stay home mom then thats her job right??? If not tell her to get a job and hire someone. Personally I feel that if she "wants" to stay home and raise kids and not work then so be it but as long as you do your part and look after the kids sometimes as well so she gets her time. Personally speaking I'm not one for stay home mom's as all the ones I know claim to be busy and never actually are. I find (again the ones I know) to be lazy. My mother had 3 kids (yes that lived - including me lol) and a 3000 square foot house and not once was anything out of place, messy or dirty. It was always very well kept. Mind you back then we didn't have DPC so. I'm not saying a maid is for everybody but I think people need to check their excuses at the door sometimes.
We have two kids.....ages 6 & 8. Like I said before we share the housework and helping with the kids. I truly believe in a marriage both must give 110% and my wife and I both do so. I get home at 3:00 every evening with the kids. First thing is to help with any homework. Once that is done it is off to cook dinner. When the wife gets home around 6 dinner is done and on the table. Except Wednesday(Grass Cutting Day) She cooks Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning we all clean and usually get done by lunch. She will not let me wash clothes because she watched me do it when I was dating her. Two piles one dirty, one clean. One load in the wash and I'm done. Saturday and Sunday is family time we spend together. Also I have raised my kids from the start to be independent. They both have been able to make their own breakfast and get themselves something to drink since age four. Don't get me wrong I help them when it is needed. I just want them to realize they can do anything. We are truly one small family that has big hearts for each other.
Amen and god bless you Glad2badad!!! ;-) Although I would never in a million years expect to have "hired help" it sure would be lovely!! I tell you working for someone else in a 9-5 job was like a vacation compared to my life these days. At least at 5:00 I got to go home and forget about it all, and I got bonuses and promotions and all sorts of other self affirming stuff. :-) But I wouldn't trade my two boys for the world and they make this "stay at home" mom thing pretty cool. OH, and don't get me wrong, my husband is the best and every once in awhile I get a nice little sparkly trinket so life is good. :-)

I think the same way ....
We both currently work so share in the housework.
I do the laundry (I don't like the way he does it)
and he does the dishes (he's getting better :)
I'm a lazy house-husband. I work weekends only, and have been having a real hard time getting motivated to get off my ass and take a non work-related photo, or clean my house/office for that matter!

Yes, that's her "job" - by choice, and supported by me. I am so very very happy that the kids get the love and support my wife provides for them. I am thankful for being in a position that allows us to have this choice.

While this may be her "job" by choice, it certainly isn't easy. I know first hand the effort that goes into EVERY "work" day she has. My job allows me to telecommute 4 days a week, so when I come out of my office I know how busy she is. It's great being here. Both of us (and my 3 year-old) enjoy getting to visit for a few minutes now and then during the day. If I was 8-5 at some other location, I wouldn't see how hard she "works" - so perhaps I am gifted with this perspective. From my perspective the last thing I could EVER call my wife is lazy.
Okay, I'm a stay at home (most of the time -- I do have an "outside" PT job) mom. My house is a wreck. Not "dirty," but cluttered with toys and clothes everywhere. I have this weakness (no, not dpc). I actually like to play with my kids when I'm home. I do computer stuff and my other home businesses when they are asleep (sometimes when they are awake if they are playing in the same room). My husband (nards656) is a huge help. He will do laundry and soem stuff like that.
I figure I can keep the house clean when they go away to college. :)
Rex, I must tell you that Eden and I were very impressed (and a little jealous) when you told us you cooked dinner everynight. :-)
What a guy!
I feel like she shouldn't have to come home at 6 and cook dinner when I get there at 3.. Plus it gives us more time to enjoy with the kiddies and I really enjoy cooking and trying new stuff.
well i do feel more productive.. i did little during the day and then got a wild hair up my butt and cleaned all the fan blades in 4 rooms and i vacuumed and steam cleaned all the carpet .. i feel better but by no means is the house clean... I think that is the over all problem....I want it done all the way.. I really can't just straighten up... i have to organize and then throw out and then re-arrange then clean the walls and use the mr. clean thing before a room is done... if I can't do it all -- I get anxious and nervous and do nothing. and for the guy who said " if she is a stay at home mom then it is her job to clean" I know you weren't talking about me, but let me stick up for some women. Lets assume your mom was a stay at home mom... and that your dad was at work all day.... now fast forward until now... when you send your mom - hopefully she is still living-- a mothers day card.. do you say thanks for rasing me to be such a productive man and nurturing me and just loving me... or does it say .. happy mothers day, thanks for everything, but you do know it was your job..
Never would you say that right... ??
Well we are someones mom or stay at home dad and cleaning is our job... but we have a far greater and more significant job than one that produces an income... You sir at your beloved job could easily be replaced ... but a mother ... impossible..
No one jump on my back ... I did work too for the first couple of years and I am all for that too... I am just making a point to this person who thinks that it is at all possible for them to leave the freaking house without the toilet paper to wipe his booty or the toothpaste to brush his teeth or the towels and clothes to be clean or the frig to be full.... had it not been for his better half making sure her job was done. We have the most ungrateful jobs a person could have and yet we do it out of pure love for our families.
I guess I am really lucky. My husband and I both work, but he does most of the cooking and the cleaning. We also have 3 children, so I tend to thier needs. He helps me do everything. He even brings me snacks and something to drink while I am on DPC. I am spoiled.
