An acquaintance of my husband has an HP Photosmart 612. Right now, the display shows 3 bands of colour (RGB) and nothing else happens. Would anyone out there know what the problem might be?

that happened to my hp315 once, but I took out the batteries, putthem back in and it worked again. If it's a long term problem, don't know how to fix it.

Thank you, Heather. It must be long term, maybe "terminal" :) We've tried the batteries, nothing changes. Thanks again.

I have a hp 315, Hae they tried reloading firmware. pluging the camera to computer and downloading the current software version. just a suggestion since I luckly haven't had that experience.
You may want to consult the camera manual since above proceedure is from memory.
