i am fairly new to digital photography and would like some comments on how to improve and develope.

any help would be appreciated

Determine what your subject is going to be, isolate it within the frame and pay attention to how the background works in relation to the subject (you want it to enhance, not distract.) Then just take a gazillion photographs striving to make each one better than the one before.

quick comments, you appear to like centralised subjects, not usually the best option use the rule of thirds more often. Watch the exposure, you have blown out areas on your boat shot in particular. Not sure how much control you have with that camera. PM me if you want more specific help.

The boats shot - There are two main subjects here, the row boat in the foreground, and the two boats in the middle. There's also that piece of pier in the background that distracts.

Pick just one thing (for example the row boat in the foreground looks interesting) - and frame everything around that.

The tree shot - too centered. Try off-setting it to one side or cropping. The colours are good though.

The FT/eyeball shot - too many distractions in the background. Use shallow DOF to keep attention on the main subject.
